Talking with @bal4e in Rust In Paris 2026 I'm now thinking again about something she said: "People don't realize how fast today's CPUs are, and they don't realize how fast CPUs made 20 years ago also are".
So, today I'm noticing how slow Github is, and I have a 3.8-4.7 GHz CPU. And it's still insanely slow.
How can some software be this slow?
