Haven’t written it up fully yet but over Easter I made some big improvements with my Wollemi prototype, adding the e-paper display code and implementing prototype CDP support too! This goes on the list of “needs polishing into blog post and open sourcing”, but I’m very happy with this prototype. It’s most of the way to being a $100 LinkRunner alternative. Much thanks to friends who know who they are for helping me get off the ground with embedded rust! I posted a little about the first iteration of this device with the same hardware, which involved ugly hacking on micropython & C++ which I didn’t like. Rust had a tricky learning curve for embedded with the borrowing system, but I’m really loving working in it. Every ten minutes I spend being told off by the compiler is an hour I don’t spend diagnosing memory lifetime bugs. #s0Projects #Tinkering #Wollemi
