so, yesterday I plugged my linuxMint laptop into Pioneer DJM900 A9 (?) dj mixer with a standard USB cable and there there were - 8 inputs, 4 stereo channels in PipeWire to which i could assign outputs from 4 decks in mixxx. this is actually a really good mixer with number of very useful effects (and beefy and rock-solid crossfader) it just means that although mixxx export to usb for Pioneer DJX players is still not possible I can still request this mixer and just plug my main laptop directly and not need to carry any audio interface and/or controller. well, need to remember/get back to controlling loops and cues and beatmatching and all that via keyboard shortcuts, which i was doing years ago on the regular anyway. and maybe - since my new laptop has a touchscreen - create some touch interfaces with TouchOSC.
