A small story about accessibility at school:
Our campus map notes that there are 82 buildings w/accessible entrance (which I think they define as a level entrance and push button opener).
Only 41 buildings on campus have elevators (some of which, ime, are often broken).
Only 27 of those buildings have a wheelchair-accessible bathroom.
The campus map lists 154 buildings in total.
So that's ... 17% of the buildings accessible for people who might need to pee? #accessibility #access

There's also the fact that the ADA definition of accessibility is not accessible for every body, and that implementation is often lackluster. I can reach the soap dispenser when it's above ADA regulation height, but a friend can't, and I am willing to bet that bathroom is still marked on the map as accessible because it has grab bars next to the toilet and space for a turning radius... My friend still can't wash her hands, though. Seems bad.
