I have a theory about the motivation behind Trump‘s language in the run-up to yesterday‘s deadline with Iran. I am old enough to remember the rhetoric coming out of Cairo, Amman, Damascus, and elsewhere before and during the 1967 & 1973 wars between Israel and its neighbors. I can imagine Netanyahu telling Trump about these threats, and specifically the vividness of their imagery (rivers will run with blood, etc.). Those are the kind of stories that grab Trump‘s attention. (1/2)
