Understanding the #history of any subject requires more than just having read histories of that subject, it requires knowing how modern historical #research is undertaken, which is why Prof. Schrag’s #book “The Princeton Guide to Historical Research” (@princetonupress) is one that should be read by a far wider group of people than just professional historians. https://www.wellreadnaturalist.com/2023/01/the-princeton-guide-to-historical-research/ #bookstodon @bookstodon@a.gup.pe

@WRNBookReview@mastodon.green @princetonupress@mstdn.party @bookstodon@a.gup.pe In the age of all kinds of misinformation, conspiracy theories, hoaxes, propaganda, "alternative facts", fake news, lies, errors, hearsay, myths, biases, ideology, bullshit, etc., I think the methods used in historical research should be something everybody should become familiar with.
