The thing that actually drives me isn’t finishing a piece. It’s the moment when something that seemed impossible last month quietly becomes possible. Any finished work is a byproduct of that. This can be hard to explain to people who are oriented around delivery.

@jansandstorm@mastodon.art This is heartening to read. I have often found that perceiving something as personally possible, to be an immensely motivating factor. It must be possible >for the current me< for the motivation to take any effect.

@jansandstorm@mastodon.art THIS! Yes. The other related magic moments for me are when the way I planned to do something isn't working, and I have to figure out some other way to get there. This breaks me out of my normal ways of thinking and always makes the work better.
