This kind of ignorance makes me so sad. Two gems:
- "polluting carbon" 🤯 straight out of the #climateDenial playbook
- "stunning discovery" of a "unique connection" 🤪 this is a well known effect, the foundation of #permaculture and #regenerativeAgriculture, studied for well over half a century.
The study that this news is based on might be decent, the article is only confirming what we already know. Pretending that it is news is altering facts (1/3)

By pretending that this is news, the authors hide elephant in the room. We know how to increase soil carbon, and we know how agriculture decreases it. We have known this longer than I am alive. We also know that carbon-rich soils are more fertile. We have known this since the dawn of #agriculture So why the hell is #soil carbon still decreasing on more than 90% of agricultural lands? If you want to write clickbait, why not put that ominous question in your title? (2/3)
