For one-time purchases, a disposable or tightly limited card can reduce exposure when the merchant supports it. For predictable subscriptions or ad accounts, a controlled reloadable product may be more practical because you can maintain funding and reduce the need to update payment details. Compare the use case before choosing a reloadable vcc (https://vccbusiness.com/reloadable-vcc). Fix balance, limits, and authorization holds first (18/43)

Balance problems are more subtle than they appear. A purchase displayed as 100 may authorize for more because of tax, shipping, a deposit, or currency conversion. Some merchants place a temporary hold that reduces available balance even though the final amount is lower. If the card is used for advertising, a platform may also charge a threshold amount rather than the amount currently visible in the campaign dashboard. (19/43)
