@Clundoff@wandering.shop I think we are actually at the beginning of the end, for the simple reason that as soon as the AI companies tried charging something closer to what they need to in order to simply break even, the users' costs skyrocketed. CFOs started getting involved and saying "What did we get for the $25 million we spent last *month*?" When good answers weren't forthcoming, because they don't exist, companies started putting limits on LLM usage. 1/

@Clundoff@wandering.shop And the math simply doesn't work. As Ed Zitron points out constantly, OpenAI and Anthropic are starting to hit the point at which no one will give them more money - and they can't charge what they need to in order to be profitable. The one silver lining in all of this? Oracle, and more specifically Larry Ellison, are going to be wrecked because of all this. As in Larry's likely to lose the source of his fortune. 2/2
