A very serious pokemon redesign. This regional form lives in caves and dark, abandoned houses and disguises itself as a Gastly. When threatened it shoots a mild irritating gas at it's attacker. #art #artist #pokemon

Oh no. I am once again swept up in other stuff that needs to be prioritized. So note to myself: I should start drawing the comic as soon as I wrote it. And maybe Satuturday isn't the best release day. Although... we will see. TLDR; I am not sure if I manage to get the comic out today. Again, apologies.

I posted an essay to my blog last night titled "Dogs in our midst". It's not really about dogs. (Sorry, I know that would have been way more popular.) It's more a critical comparison of the "AI" boom to the dot-com boom that it is sometimes compared to. I would not say "AI" stacks up well. I posted an old document I made (1981) calling itself a Macsyma Implementors' Guide. It was more like a reference manual for some basic functions used internally in Macsyma at that time. Not a lot of explanatory text. But there are examples that reveal use. Many of the named functions may still work in one or both of the two Macsyma/Maxima branches as this was upstream of the split. Though there could have been downstream changes that make it less useful. You're on your own the...

I posted another essay to my blog, The Triage Problem. It addresses a critical modularity issue that I feel is at the heart of systematic overconsumption of planetary-level resources in typical LLM architectures. https://netsettlement.blogspot.com/2026/10/the-triage-problem.html #AI #complexity #DataCenters #environment #LLM #LLMs #risk #simplicity #triage #TheTriageProblem #AISkills #ModelContextProtocol #MCP
