It's been a really interesting trip, owning and running a one-person instance. Time to simplify though, so I'm off and this instance will be shut down in due course. Find me @afloatingbea !

@Legit_Spaghetti vote for “socialist” politicians who aren’t in the pay of the institutions and will let them go broke. I put quotes around “socialist” because everyone involved here really just believes in a social safety net, the difference is that some of them think that corporations should have a safety net, while others think it should be people who have the safety net. I’m with the people folks on this one.

Wait, so it’s fine for the US AI labs to train their models on everyone else’s IP, and keep that proprietary, but not OK for anyone else to use their IP to train an open weights model? No. Sit down. Shut the fuck up. Stop trying to create another tech monopoly. https://ground.news/article/tech-giants-push-back-against-open-weight-ai-restrictions_0b44f7?utm_source=mobile-app&utm_medium=newsroom-share

For at least a year after I moved to Berlin I thought this indicated some kind of WiFi service. Pronounced “JeffNet” and obviously founded by Geöff, provided by all kinds of shops and cafes as a public service. I was very disappointed to finally discover it means “we are open”. I still prefer my version.

RE: https://flipboard.com/@aljazeera/economy-90a2acd7z/-/a-o-U0kG6lRHaDxWN0TdN37Q%3Aa%3A3199698-%2F0 I’m no longer convinced that raising interest rates reduces inflation. A large chunk of Australians have mortgages. Those mortgages are the single largest household expense for most of those people. Raising interest rates does not induce savings (as the theory goes), because no-one has money to save. It raises living expenses. That, in turn, applies pressure on working folks to get a raise. In...

@pandora_parrot They changed the background to a ridiculously oversaturated blue for "accessibility." It of course triggers my migraines so yeah. Done posting there. I queued up other social media links.

Rodney the Gobby. Fun fact - Rodney is not her real name. Her real name is too difficult for Tall Ones to pronounce, so she picked a Silly Human Name instead. #goblin #druid #druids #goblins #dnd #dndart #dndcharacter #illustration #digitalart #characterart #mastoart #creativetoots #creative #mastoartist
